Two Sentences!

Here are two sentences from the novel-potboiler I've been working for the last 5 years:

"It would be interesting to know if I gave myself a long soul-scalding look in the mirror: certainly it would have been the moment for it. I don't remember; in any case, I rather doubt it."

That with about 850 double-spaced pages of action, sketchy research, dialogue, notes to self, mysteriously highlighted paragraphs, descriptions of hotels, dogs, coconut teacakes, dresses, eyebrows, laughter, church basements, unromantically decrepit manor houses, the Cote D'Azure and strange and signifcant bibelots, not to mention many sentences in need of much detangling (rather like this one) and I may, someday, have something nearing a completed work, god wot.
